Work Experience

Data Engineer Intern - CHS INC (June 2022 - Aug 2022)

Built PowerBI dashboard to visualize core business KPIs reducing the monotonous task of manual reporting by 30% weekly thus providing business to make data-driven decisions. Gathered unstructured data from multiple sources & automated ELT in Snowflake with dbt and wrote macros for high reusability. Managed the repository using Azure DevOps and releases with Azure pipelines via Octopus. Expedited the ongoing migration of OT data to AWS Cloud thus optimizing data access almost 2x times the legacy. Automated the process of data transfer from SCADA to AWS IoT Greengrass. Rewrote CloudFormation scripts to setup the EC2 instances and the VPC endpoints related to industrial connectivity. The last layer to this was creating a dashboard using AWS SiteWise Monitor which monitored the health and raised alerts and provided useful insights to improve internal controls

Full Stack Web Developer Intern - SNCO (Oct 2020 - Aug 2021)

Developed and maintained a web-based accounting software using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. Designed RESTful APIs to integrate the software with third-party services such as payment gateways and tax calculators. Optimized performance and scalability using caching, compression, and database indexing techniques. Collaborated with product manager and QA team to resolve issues related to functionality, usability, and security. Improved development process with automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines. Communicated effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain technical concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner.

Bike Lane

Tech Stack: JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Supabase, Mapbox API, PostGIS, Deno, GitHub
Designed an user-friendly server-less web application for fellow bikers to report cars, potholes, obstructions, etc within bike lanes using ReactJS & Supabase. Wrote PostGIS queries in PostgreSQL to manage spatial data like latitude and longitude for accurate locations and illustrate the reported violations on a map. Created interactive maps using mapbox-gl allowing users to make polygons to find obstruction(s) within a region. Supabase offered server-less edge functions and PostgreSQL db which served as the backend for this project and Netlify was used and configured to deploy the website.

Created a streaming data pipeline using Akka, Kafka & Spark and visualized it using d3.js

Tech Stack: Scala, Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon Managed Streaming Kafka, Spark EMR, HTML, JavaScript
Real time streaming ETL pipeline of a log file of well over 10GB. Implemented Akka for monitoring the log file which was entirely coded & designed using Scala of a log file around 10-12GB. Kafka was incorporated which improved the latency 5x times as compared to other open source message brokers. Wrote Spark code using Python and Spark-Kafka Streaming using the AWS Email Service for high performance and low latency.

Implemented a RESTful service and a lambda function which are accessed from clients using gRPC

Scala, Python, AWS S2, AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS API-Gateway, Postman
Designed a client program that uses gRPC to invoke a lambda function using AWS API-Gateway with the GET and POST requests on a log dataset roughly 15-20GB. Skipped significant overheard time in this micro-service architecture setting as protocol buffers were used. Minimized response time by using gRPC ~100ms which improved the performance and enhanced latency.

Prevention of Cyber Troll Sarcasm System on Social Networking using ML with Bilingual Analytics

Python, Tensorflow, Flask Dance, jupyter, keras, SQLAlchemy, Sklearn, Matplotlib, Pandas
Developed a web-app to get real-time analysis of trolls and sarcastic comments on a user's social media account. Performed data preprocessing & sentimental analysis on twitter data set. Datasets consisted of the languages: English, Hindi & Hindi + English (commonly called as Hinglish). Model was built using recurrent layer consisting of bidirectional GRUs to predict the sentiments with a test accuracy of 67%
